The Order of St. Paul
On 23rd May, 1987 in Damascus, His Beatitude Ignatius IV, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All The East, authorized Frederic Patrice Burckle, Count Prince von Aarburg, to establish the Sovereign, Chivalric and Religious Order of St. Paul.
The document attesting to this was signed by Bishop Elias Kfoury and registered with the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch under the reference 87/177/552. This document was formally given to the Count von Aarburg at a reception held at the Antiochian, Diocesan Administrative headquarters for Western and Central Europe in Paris, on 23rd June, 1988, in the presence of His Beatitude Ignatius IV, Patriarch of Antioch and All The East, and Bishop Gabriel Saliby, then head of the Antiochian Vicariate of Western Europe.
On 12th December, 2014, the Most Reverend Frederic Burckle, Lieutenant General of the Militia Sancti Pauli, made Archbishop Leon Roger Hunt a Knight Commander of the Order of St. Paul; and on 18th May, 2015, Archbishop Burckle established Leon Roger Hunt as Lieutenant Grand Cross of the Order of St. Paul for the United Kingdom.
The Order of St. Paul in the United Kingdom works closely with the Society of the Christian Life of the Nicene Catholic Apostolic Church and with the Lutheran Church of St. Peter and St. Paul for the promotion of Christianity and Christian values.
